When I first came to yoga it was primarely for physical reasons as I was no good at any sports that involved a ball or running, which most traditional danish sports do. Already at the end of my first astanga vinaysa yoga class, lying in savasana, a part of me knew I had found the right kind exersice.
At the time I worked as a busy free-lance graphic designer and continued to squeeze yogaclases in between deadlins and meetings. i suddently faced impermenence and a the essens of ducka when my father past away in late 2004. It made me reconsider my values which led me to a more integrated practice.
Along the way i realized the importance of finding a more wholesome approch to life, as Astanga Vinasa Yoga easily becomes very dogmatic, ridgid and obsessed with the body. All of these factors caused me a discusprolapse followed by an operation, because of an ajustment from a teacher.
This is when I started my Ayurvedic studies. The deep roots in the Vedas provided the thorough psyko-somatic aproch and a deep respect for every person as an individual.
